KSARAK GRAPE SPIRIT

Ksarak Grape Spirit, widely considered one of Lebanon’s premier examples of arak, is produced by Château Ksara with uncompromising craftsmanship and adherence to tradition. Using a blend of indigenous Lebanese grapes and the world-renowned aniseed from Mount Hermon’s Al Heenah area, Ksarak undergoes triple distillation in copper stills to extract purity in taste and aroma. It is then aged for two years in locally made clay amphorae, a process essential for mellowing the flavor and achieving its smooth, velvety mouthfeel. The resulting spirit pours crystal clear, with an aromatic bouquet of intense sweet anise, delicate herbal notes, and hints of black licorice and tarragon. Upon addition of cold water, Ksarak louche’s to a milky white, releasing further aromatic oils and enhancing its creamy texture. The palate unfolds with pronounced anise, gentle black pepper, subtle florals, and a long, clean finish with minimal burn.
